ACL Injuries

A major ligament of the knee, a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) causes instability of the knee and severe pain. These injuries usually occur when playing sports that require sudden stops, jumping, and pivoting, such as basketball, soccer, football, and tennis, among others. The knee may swell and become too painful to bear weight. Many people report hearing a “pop” in the knee at the time of injury.
